Law in Brazil is derived from French, Portuguese, Italian and German Civil law. It has been based on the Federal Constitution since 1988. It is also partly based on statutes. Brazil has a huge number of Law school programs – 1 204 to be exact, according to an evaluation of 2007. For comparison, there were only 180 law schools in the USA. In 2010 the number of Brazilian lawyers was 621 885 and had been steadily growing as Law is one of the most widely preferred majors along with Finance.
One of Brazil’s most recognized lawyers is Ricardo Tosto de Oliveira Carvalho. Ricardo Tosto received a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the Mackenzie Presbiterian University. He is a prominent leader and strategist and transitioned from a tiny law office to being an invaluable part of one of the best corporate litigation law firms in Brazil. The experience Ricardo Tosto gained allowed him to open his own law firm called Leite, Tosto and Barros Advogados Associados (Leite, Tosto and Barros Associated lawyers) and to turn it into one of the largest law firms in the whole country.
Ricardo Tosto specializes in providing legal services for some of the largest corporations in Brazil as well as for international corporations. He has defended quite a few public personalities. Ricardo Tosto has worked for a large number of politicians as well as other government personalities. Ricardo Tosto is skilled at recognizing which legal mechanism will be most used in the future of Brazilian law. Most of his current partners Ricardo Tosto mentored himself ever since they were only interns at his firm. He is extremely involved in his firm’s work and oversees any ongoing cases. Ricardo Tosto has always been open-minded towards new strategies and believes that new legal mechanisms are what develops the Law of Brazil further. That has made Ricardo Tosto a great leader that not only interns and law students can learn from but also his own partners. He is greatly respected in Brazilian legal community, and he has given many lectures and speeches as a way to inspire and mentor the law students of Brazil.
The Hungarian-American billionaire, George Soros has said he will invest $500 million into the companies and startups founded by refugees and migrants including the initiatives and businesses started to address the needs of refugees and their host communities. Soros is the founder and chairman of both Soros Fund Management and Open Society Foundation. Open Society Foundation is the non-profit organization used by Soros and other donors to fund other charity organizations as well as initiatives that target the beneficiaries directly.
Open Society Foundation include a network of projects, foundations, and partners in more than 100 countries. The name open society was a perfect fit for Soros commitment to a society where fundamental rights are respected, the government is held accountable for its decisions and finances, and the right to access information. Soros began his charity work in 1979 when he started by awarding scholarships to black South Africans who were undergoing oppression under apartheid.
He was one of the contributors to undermining the strength of communism through supplying Xerox printing machines to accelerate the distribution of banned texts and the idea of culture exchange with the West. The fall of the Berlin Wall marked a critical change of cause for George Soros because it is after the fall that he created Central European University to promote critical thinking. Soros later expanded his charity work to other countries like Africa, the United States, and Asia.
His recent efforts to help ease the refugee crisis is not a new one. Soros has spent millions of dollars helping refugees and writing publications that would guide the governments to address the refugee crisis on Investopedia. His recent announcement to invest in refugee initiatives came as the United States President, Barack Obama issued a “Call to Action” initiative, on the American companies to help ease the migrant crisis.
While he was announcing the plans to invest in the refugee initiatives, George Soros said that he intends to invest in both startups and established companies as well as businesses with social impact initiatives started by the migrant. The primary goal of the investment according to Soros is to benefit the migrant and host communities themselves. The announcement came at a time when the ceasefire between the Russia and the U.S. in Syria collapsed.
George Soros also supports political initiatives including funding political campaigns that support the idea of free trade. Recently, Soros donated $2.5 million to the Democratic Party candidate Hilary Clinton through a super PAC that supports the party. George Soros had previously contributed $7 million to Priorities USA Action last year. The super PAC has heavily spent its campaign funds on ads supporting Clinton and creating other ads criticizing the policies of the Republican Candidate, Donald Trump. However, the big spending by super PACs has drawn criticisms from Donald Trump.

Anyone who has ever donated time or money to charity knows that it is a very rewarding thing to do. It can actually make a person feel quite amazing. It is also something that can be noticed by many people within the world and often attracts good people to the person who gives back. A family that has done an excellent job of this is the DeVos family of Michigan. They know the importance of taking care of other and how it can create a spectacular domino affect on others. In fact they have been giving back to the tune of over 1.2 billion dollars through out their time here on this planet. They give to many organizations through many different means, but the Dick and Betsy DeVos Family Foundation is their primary avenue of giving.
Dick DeVos and his family name is definitely heard loud and clear in the world as a family who donates to a wide variety of places but, more importantly they understand what serving is all about. They have done their best to use their good fortune to help people who struggle throughout the word. It is not just in a small manner but, instead in a very systematic way with their arms holding up different sections with their gift. They also tend to rub off on other people so it could be said to be a bit of the Midas touch but, in a very good way. A recent article captured their giving in a fantastic way that gives back to many involved and it was a great read and really is their gift to the world.
The article references how the family has been able to give away so much money and consider the value of others to be in how they give to the earth as a whole. They do not consider their wealth to be in material value but, rather in the way it heals the world with the service and their gifts of money on to others. It is a fascinating way that more people should see value in the good that is done in the life of many instead of what can be attained. The DeVos family have delivered their gift in the form of donations to the community, the arts and also their generosity concerning education just to list a small view into their work. Dick DeVos also wrote a book on the values that they hold true to and it is a great read for giving motivation.A Great Love Given To The World In Servitude From The DeVos Family
